Shazmah Hakim has been appointed Chief Legal Officer at Remington Hospitality
Remington Hospitality, a leading hotel management company, has welcomed Shazmah Hakim as Chief Legal Officer. Hakim, who brings over two decades of experience, has a background steeped in hospitality, operations, and law and a proven track record of success. In her new role, Hakim will help guide Remington into its next phase of growth and ensure efficient and effective legal processes are developed and implemented to support company initiatives.
As Chief Legal Officer, Hakim will oversee all efforts across the legal department. She will be entrusted with providing expert legal counsel to senior management, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and representing the company's interests in legal proceedings and negotiations.At Remington Hospitality, Hakim will continue to foster trust and collaboration within the legal department and across the organization as a whole, contributing to the company's ongoing success. My vision is for the law department to be a strong and trusted partner in facilitating this next chapter for Remington while protecting its interests."Hakim began her hospitality law career at Marriott International where she played a pivotal role in overseeing all operating hotels in the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Middle East, and Africa, contributing to the company's global expansion. Hakim then joined Kingdom Hotels Limited in Dubai where she served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel and guided the company through its expansion into emerging markets before returning to Marriott to fulfill a similar role. In this leadership position, she heavily supported the company's global loyalty, marketing, branding, sales, and consumer initiatives. Hakim attended Scripps College in Claremont, California, New York University, and The George Washington University Law School, developing her rich knowledge in international relations and law.
