Gary Thulander

EOS Hospitality, a full-service management company with a distinctive portfolio of best-in-class hotels and resorts, has announced the appointment of Gary Thulander as Area Managing Director of Wequassett Resort and Golf Club. In his new role, he will also oversee Red Jacket Resorts, supporting the management team across the five South Yarmouth-based properties. Thulander brings over three decades of hospitality experience to EOS Hospitality and its Cape Cod-based assets. His expertise in operational excellence, passion for people, and commitment to community mirror the New England destination's celebrated legacy and Five-Star accolades.

Before joining the Wequassett Resort and Golf Club team, Thulander was the Managing Director for Cape Cod's Chatham Bars Inn, leading the team to earn and maintain a coveted Forbes five-star rating since 2023. A respected industry leader, his previous tenures included time as President and General Manager of the Woodstock Inn & Resort in Woodstock, Vermont, where he was awarded the Innkeeper of the Year Award for the State of Vermont in 2017. Before the Woodstock Inn, Thulander spent many years in the Caribbean, where he broadened the breadth and depth of his hospitality experience and industry recognition. During this time, he spent five years in St. Lucia as General Manager of The Landings Resort & Spa, Anse Chastanet, Jade Mountain, and also served as General Manager of Cap Juluca in Anguilla, recognized as the third-best beach resort in the world, where he was awarded Hotelier of the Year.

He also served as General Manager at the Equinox Resort and Spa, a RockResort in Manchester, Vermont, where he received the prestigious Chairman's Award from Vail Resorts, and spent time at The Boulders Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona, a then-Five Diamond property. Gary launched his career and received foundational training at another Five Star property: The Williamsburg Inn in Williamsburg, Virginia. Throughout his exceptional professional past, his approach to operational excellence, personal engagement with guests, and sales performance have consistently driven high occupancy levels and record revenues for his properties. The seasoned veteran will oversee Wequassett's operations, including the luxury accommodations, six food and beverage venues, water activities, seasonal programming, and more.

Gary joins Wequassett Resort and Golf Club ahead of the 2024 peak season - an especially unique and exciting time for the property and its entire team as they prepare to unveil several new updates, including the multi-bedroom Hydrangea Cottages, redesigned Lobby, private luxury poolside cabanas, refreshed restaurant spaces and more.

Gary serves as the President of the Chatham Chamber of Commerce, a Cape Cod Chamber Board Member, and the Massachusetts Lodging Association. He is the Current Chairman of the Resort Committee for the American Hotel Lodging Association. He boasts a variety of awards and accolades, including the Innkeeper of the Year Award for the State of Vermont in 2017 and Hotelier of the Year. The ladder was awarded while Gary served as General Manager of Cap Juluca in Anguilla, the third-best beach resort in the world.
