Mike Kass

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach today announces the appointment of Mr. Mike Kass, an esteemed luxury hospitality leader in the Hawaiian Islands, as its new General Manager. Mr. Kass brings three decades of distinguished hospitality and leadership experience in both premium and luxury brands under Marriott International including The Ritz-Carlton brand.

In his capacity as General Manager, Mr. Kass will oversee and spearhead all aspects of the largest Ritz-Carlton Residences in the brand's global portfolio with 552 luxury residences, while leading a team of more than 250 Ladies and Gentlemen. His extensive background and experience in Hawaii's hospitality industry will continue to position the property as the top luxury hotel choice in Waikiki Beach.

During Mr. Kass' early career, he held several key leadership positions in sales and marketing for Marriott International's premium brands across the Eastern and Western regions. In 2011, he joined The Ritz-Carlton as Director of Sales & Marketing for the opening of The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain prior to being promoted to Hotel Manager. Under his leadership, The Ritz-Carlton, Dove Mountain achieved the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star designation.

Shortly after, Mr. Kass joined The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua where he eventually became General Manager and achieved key successes for the resort including earning AAA Five-Diamond status. His career with Marriott International also includes serving as General Manager of the San Francisco Marriott Marquis and The Westin Maui Resort & Spa. He rejoins The Ritz-Carlton brand after most recently serving as Area Managing Director for Alohilani Resort.

As an active member of the community, Mr. Kass serves on the Board of Directors for Maui Hotel & Lodging Association, Waikiki Business Improvement District and the Rotary Club Honolulu Sunset. He also serves on the leadership committee for the Hawaii Chapter of the American Heart Association. Mr. Kass attended Michigan State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in Restaurant and Institutional Management.
