Luis Mendoza has been appointed General Manager at Avila Lighthouse Suites in Avila Beach
KSL Resorts is excited to announce the appointment of Luis Mendoza as the new General Manager of Avila Lighthouse Suites, part of the group's Central Coast Collection of hotels.Luis Mendoza brings a wealth of experience in hotel management and operations, most recently serving as Assistant Resort General Manager at Vespera Resort, an Autograph Collection property in Pismo Beach. At Vespera, Mendoza oversaw the daily operations of the 124-room beachfront resort, leading key departments such as front office, housekeeping, engineering, and valet. His commitment to excellence in service and adherence to Marriott brand standards resulted in improved guest satisfaction scores, including an increase in Vespera's Intent to Recommend score from 61 to 72 and its TripAdvisor ranking from #14 to #2.Mendoza's leadership experience extends beyond his most recent role at Vespera Resort. As General Manager at Hotel Indigo in Santa Barbara, he successfully led operations, budget management, and brand compliance for the lifestyle boutique property. In previous roles with Pacifica Hotel Company, Mendoza managed operations for multiple boutique hotels, including The Wayfarer Hotel in Santa Barbara and Fireside Inn in Cambria, where he implemented strategic improvements in revenue, guest satisfaction, and employee development.
In addition to his extensive professional background, Luis Mendoza holds an Associate Degree in Sociology from Santa Barbara City College. He has also earned certifications in hotel management, including Certified General Manager from the Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) and the 3-D Hotel Sales Program through Pacifica Hotel Group.Mendoza's combination of hands-on experience, leadership, and education makes him a strong leadership selection for Avila Lighthouse Suites. His focus on team development, service excellence, and operational efficiency will help drive the continued success of the property as well as KSL Resort's Central Coast Collection.
