Stuart Evans has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort
Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort is delighted to announce the appointment of Stuart Evans as the new Director of Sales and Marketing. A seasoned hospitality professional with over two decades of experience, Evans brings a wealth of expertise in sales leadership, strategic marketing, and driving revenue growth for luxury properties and destination experiences.
Evans joins the new Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort at an important time for the property which just completed a multi-million dollar renovation and rebrand. In October, the resort unveiled its fully renovated existing meeting space that includes a revitalization of the 14,000 square foot Vaquero Ballroom, as well as the remaining 52,000 square feet of existing indoor/outdoor function space.
The resort's grand Arizona Ballroom is set to debut in January 2025. Upon completion, the Arizona Ballroom will have nearly doubled in size to 24,000 square feet to make Grand Hyatt Scottsdale Resort a gold standard for meetings and events in the region. In total, the expanded Arizona Ballroom will join the completely renovated meeting and event spaces to house a total of 90,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor function space, including 35,000 square feet of outdoor space and an additional 10,000 square feet of pre-function space. Groups can take advantage of 48 dynamic meeting rooms, onsite AV support, and high-speed internet.
Evans brings with him strong sales experience in the Sonoran Desert region with his recent role as Vice President of Sales at Visit Phoenix. During his tenure, he restructured and revitalized a multi-segment sales team, achieving over 100% of production goals in citywide, hotel, and tourism segments. His contributions extended beyond sales, as he played a key role in developing integrated marketing and public relations strategies to elevate Phoenix's profile as a leading travel destination.
Evans is no stranger to Hyatt Corporation, having held leadership positions at prestigious properties such as Hyatt Regency San Francisco, where he led his team to exceed revenue goals by 107%. As Area Task Force Director of Sales and Marketing, he implemented transformative sales strategies across multiple Hyatt properties, delivering exceptional results.
His career highlights also include pre-opening leadership at Rancho Pescadero, a luxury Hyatt Unbound Collection resort, where he spearheaded sales, digital marketing, and public relations initiatives. Additionally, Evans led the sales teams at Ventana Big Sur and Carmel Valley Ranch, where his innovative strategies drove record-breaking group and leisure revenues.
A Radford University alumnus with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Evans demonstrated leadership early as the captain of the university's varsity tennis team. His professional accolades include being a finalist for Hyatt Corporation's Best Director of Sales and Marketing of the Year and successfully completing the prestigious General Manager Leadership Training Program. He is an active member of the Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence (SITE).
