Advancing the hospitality industry through academic dedication and professional application is the essence of John Scaggs' decade-long career in the industry. With global consulting, operations, and educational experience, John has developed and implemented hospitality related services in hotels and restaurants both large and small, domestically and abroad. Since joining HVS Boulder in 2005, John has performed an array of consulting and valuation assignments in all regions of the United States, and currently leads HVS' Eco Services division that was founded in 1993. John specializes in utility data analysis, and environmentally sustainable operations and development. John's operational hotel experience has spanned from the 500-room W Hotel in Times Square, to a small independently owned resort in Sicily. In the world of food and beverage, John has worked in such restaurants as Da Silvano, in Manhattan, Top of the Hub, in Boston, and The Castle at Tarrytown, in Tarrytown, New York. John earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston College, where he majored in English, and a Master of Science degree in Hotel Investment Analysis from New York University. John has completed extensive wine training at the International Wine Guild in Denver, and is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Urban Land Institute.
