Israel is senior information systems leader and consultant who has contributed business and technology solutions by the defining the strategy and delivering multimillion-dollar transformation systems from green-field and legacy for global hospitality, gaming, and travel companies. He enjoys a reputation for innovation and effectiveness that can cut across multiple industry verticals with a particular focus on Travel and Hospitality. As SVP & CIO for Revel Resorts he launched a 60+ system technology platform and IT governance in record time for this brand new $2.4B resort and casino. The systems included the selection, delivery, and operations of an integrated Casino Management System, Loyalty/CRM, and the resort’s ground-breaking guestroom technology. Previously, Israel was SVP & CTO for IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group Plc), where he led the CRM/BI strategic technology transformation efforts, and SVP—Technology Solutions at Starwood Hotels & Resorts, where he oversaw a multi-year strategic transformation program to deliver state-of-the-art solutions for guest-facing applications and business support systems, including Rates & Availability, Search, as well as multi-branded Web eCommerce and hotel property management systems. As consultant for Grupo Posadas, a leading Latin American hospitality company he advised on the transformation of a multi-branded eCommerce site and the strategy for its Loyalty BPO subsidiary.
Israel has also served as Vice President, Enterprise Architecture at Sabre Inc., and at Galileo International (now Travelport), both leading travel reservations systems handling tens of thousands of transactions per second. While there, he spearheaded the introduction of emerging distributed reservation technologies to tens of thousands of travel agencies.
His career also includes working for United Airlines and for IBM’s International Support Center in Boca Raton, Florida as Advisory Systems Engineer. Israel has been recognized by Computerworld as a Premiere 100 IT honoree and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics & Communications from Mexico’s National Polytechnic Institute.
