Ben Schumacher

Ben Schumacher is the Vice President of Operations, South East Asia Pacific Rim, for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world's largest hotel franchising company and leading provider of management services with 9,000 hotels globally. Sitting on the Asia Pacific Senior Leadership team, he oversees a portfolio of over 150 properties including both Managed and Franchised Hotels, and is the key relationship manager between owners, developers, general managers, and hotel teams alike. He also manages a team of Operations Directors and Managers that supports the hotel's operating portfolio and a pipeline of anticipated openings representing over 25,000 rooms. Mr. Schumacher joined Wyndham in 2016 as Franchise Services Manager, rising through the ranks to ultimately serve as Vice President of Operations in 2020. Under his leadership, he has spearheaded over 30 new openings across key markets including Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji; launched new brands such as Dolce and La Quinta; and entered new markets such as Cambodia. Mr. Schumacher brings over 18 years of industry experience including senior management roles at Hilton Worldwide across Australia and New Zealand. He holds a bachelor's degree in Applied Hospitality and Tourism from New Zealand's Pacific International Hotel Management School.
