Michael Curran has a notable background in the hospitality industry that spans over 29 years, the majority of which has been focused on Internet marketing and advertising. Throughout the years, his work has earned his clients multiple HSMAI Adrian Awards. As VP of Marketing Operations for Cogwheel Marketing & Analytics, Michael spearheads strategic initiatives to optimize marketing operations, enhance efficiency, and drive growth across the organization. As the VP of eCommerce Strategy for Aimbridge, Michael oversaw a team dedicated to the support of independent and soft-branded hotels and resorts across North America. His responsibilities covered the full spectrum of support: setting annual marketing plans to then executing and evolving each approach through media planning and execution, search engine optimization and search engine marketing (PPC) oversight, display advertising, remarketing/retargeting campaigns, programmatic campaigns, email and CRM cycle campaigns, video and OTT campaigns, OTA content and campaigns, as well as general website strategy development and new builds. Michael’s work at Wpromote was similar to Aimbridge and focused around upscale and luxury destination resort clients, all requiring the same strategy and campaign support annually. Prior to Wpromote, Michael had five years of experience with Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Online where he was one of three lead business strategists involved in the re-launch of Disneyworld.com. Curran also piloted efforts to develop and implement three HSMAI Adrian Award-winning projects for Disney Meetings and Social Media sites, and was Manager of Internet Strategy and Product Development for Disney World Meetings and Conventions, Disney Sports and Recreation, Disney Golf, The World of Disney Store, Disney Visa and Disney Theme Park Merchandise. Prior to his Disney experience, Curran served as Director of eCommerce for Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Worldwide in Dallas, TX. His umbrella of responsibility included the strategy, implementation, and oversight of all online sales and marketing initiatives for meetings and conventions, corporate accounts, weddings, family reunions and social events. In addition, Curran was responsible for the development and oversight of the company’s search engine marketing. Before working at Wyndham, Curran had five years of property operations experience with Hilton Hotels of Chicago including revenue management, front office, reservations, and group and convention sales and marketing.
