JP Kavanagh

JP Kavanagh joined The Shelbourne Hotel as General Manager in 2018. Bringing nearly two decades of experience in hospitality, Mr. Kavanagh oversees all operations at the iconic hotel, enhancing its legacy as an Irish landmark. He most recently served as General Manager of The Belmond Grand Hibernian in Dublin where he oversaw the launch of Ireland's first luxury rail experience. He has served as General Manager of Westbury Dublin, Kensington Hotel London, Sheraton Dubai Mall of Emirates Hotel, and The Sheraton Grand Hotel and Spa in Edinburgh. Mr. Kavanagh began his hospitality career in 1993 with a position at The Connaught Hotel in London, followed by The Hyde Park Hotel in Knightsbridge, London (now Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park), The Clarence Hotel in Dublin, Westin Dublin, and Turnberry in South Ayrshire, Scotland. Originally from Dublin, Mr. Kavanagh has a bachelor's degree in management science from Trinity College Dublin and a Higher Diploma in Hotel Management from Dublin College of Catering. As the son of a hotelier, he has a lifelong passion for hospitality and service that has been passed through the generations.
