Vice President of Security and Facilitation, U.S. Travel Association
Ryan Propis joined the U.S. Travel Association in May 2024. As Vice President of Security and Facilitation, he is U.S. Travel’s subject matter expert and lead advocate on travel security and facilitation policies. In this role, Ryan leads the development of U.S. Travel’s policy positions on issues related to travel security and facilitation – including transportation and aviation security, customs and immigration, and visitor visa processing – as well as the execution of advocacy strategies to advance the security and facilitation agenda. Prior to joining U.S. Travel, Ryan spent over a decade in the federal government. Most recently, he was the Deputy Staff Director and General Counsel for the Committee on Homeland Security in the U.S. House of Representatives. Before that, Ryan was appointed to multiple senior leadership positions at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), including as Chief of Staff under TSA Administrator David Pekoske. Ryan began his federal career in the U.S. House of Representatives serving in multiple positions, including with the Committee on Homeland Security and the Committee on Foreign Affairs. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Florida.
