Warimpex and VI growing strong with angelo hotel brand
- Second airport hotel opens in Ekaterinburg-Koltsovo
- angelo hotel now in Ekaterinburg in addition to Prague, Bucharest, Munich and Plzen
- Additional angelo hotel under construction in Katowice, Poland
Warimpex today has handed over the operation of the angelo airport hotel in Ekaterinburg to Vienna International. The listed real estate developer that specializes in hotels began the construction of the 4-star hotel at Ekaterinburg-Koltsovo airport nearly 18 months ago. The 211-room airport hotel is owned by Warimpex and the Russian Renova Group.
The majority owner of Ekaterinburg-Koltsovo airport, the Russian Renova Group of Companies, and Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs AG initiated a joint venture for two airport hotels Liner and angelo. "Today's opening marks the implementation of another key project on the growing Russian market with our long-time partner Vienna International. We see excellent long-term growth potential on this promising market," explained Franz Jurkowitsch, CEO of Warimpex.
Eugene Chudnovsky, Investment Director of Renova Project Ltd., commented the opening and the good collaboration between the partners: “We are very happy to see that the combination of the complimentary experiences of our groups have now materialised in the form of this remarkable hotel. We are confident that commercial success will soon follow.”
Ekaterinburg-Koltsovo airport is the fifth-largest airport in Russia after the three airports in Moscow and the airport St. Petersburg. Ekaterinburg is also the fourth-largest city with 1.3 million inhabitants. Ekaterinburg is located close to the Ural Mountains and the imaginary dividing line between Europe and Asia. This location also underscores the importance of the airport, which is being served by an increasing number of Russian and international airlines.

The angelo airport hotel has a direct connection to the newly built passenger terminal and has a total of 211 sound-isolated rooms and suites. The increasing number of passengers from Russia and abroad can also make use of a 1,344-square-metre conference centre with twelve conference rooms and state-of-the-art technical equipment. "In addition to its modern interior design, the hotel offers business travellers and companies not only first-class lodging, but also a very attractive range of event services. This hotel offers international-class four-star quality," says Rudolf Tucek, CEO of Vienna International Hotelmanagement AG, expressing his confidence in the potential of the new establishment. And guests won't go away hungry, either, thanks to the restaurant and the bar that serves drinks and small snacks around the clock.

Selected forms and colours – a mixture of intensive black, coral red, yellow and white tones combined with top-of-the-line furnishings – provide for a contemporary atmosphere in the angelo design hotels. Hotels of this brand are being operated in Munich (Germany), in Prague and Plzen (Czech Republic), in Bucharest (Romania), as of today in Ekaterinburg (Russia), and also in Katowice (Poland) starting in March 2010. The hotel that is being built directly in the heart of Katowice will have 203 rooms and suites and an 840-square-metre conference area.

While the angelo hotel was being built, the 146-room Liner airport hotel, that has been in operation at the airport since 1986, was renovated and converted into an international-standard 3-star hotel. The hotel has two conference rooms for up to 60 people.
