ATLANTA / June 14, 2000--OpenTable.com (www.opentable.com) today announced the expansion of their online restaurant reservation network to Atlanta. The Atlanta launch is part of a nationwide expansion of the San Francisco-based company, which currently offers restaurant reservations in 16 cities across the country. OpenTable.com's breakthrough technology offers diners free online restaurant reservations that are confirmed instantly on the OpenTable.com website (www.opentable.com) and provides restaurants with revolutionary Internet-enabled customer relationship management, yield management and reservation management tools.

Van Gogh's in Roswell, Ga., is already accepting online reservations via OpenTable.com. In the coming weeks restaurants including City Grill, Sotto Sotto, and Mumbo Jumbo in downtown Atlanta; Marra's Grill, Prime, Vino!, Fusebox, Aria, and Toulouse in Buckhead; Angelo's Ristorante, Cabernet, Vinny's on Windward, and Six Degrees in Alpharetta, Ga.; and Tiburon Grill in the Virginia-Highlands neighborhood will join the hundreds of restaurants around the country using the OpenTable.com customer management system and accepting online reservations through the company's web site.

OpenTable.com's breakthrough service enables diners to search for table availability 24 hours a day by cuisine type, neighborhood or price range, get instant confirmation, relay special instructions to the restaurant, invite guests, and view maps online. The service is free to diners.

At the restaurant, both phone and Internet reservations are booked directly into OpenTable.com's proprietary electronic reservation book (ERB). The ERB is connected to the Internet, enabling real-time communication between the restaurant and its customers via the OpenTable.com web site. For restaurants, the ERB builds a proprietary customer database, and offers new reservation management capabilities and unique marketing solutions.

"OpenTable.com thoroughly understands the restaurant business," said Leslie Santiago, general manager of City Grill. "Our staff is very excited to use the system because it allows us to serve our customers in a more sophisticated manner. OpenTable's system is efficient and easy to use from both the diner's and the restaurateur's perspective."

"OpenTable.com works on the cutting edge in every aspect of the restaurant business," said Gerry Klaskala, owner and head chef of Aria. "The first time I looked at OpenTable.com's ERB screen, it was like looking directly into the future of reservations in our industry. OpenTable.com addresses every question and concern we have their system makes the reservation experience easier than it's ever been for the diner."

"Atlanta is a great dining town, and Atlantans are becoming increasingly Internet-savvy, which makes it a great city to add to our network," said Chuck Templeton, OpenTable.com founder and chairman, who was recently named a "Rising Star" by Restaurant Hospitality Magazine. "We are pleased with the welcome we've received from Atlanta restaurateurs and diners who appreciate the benefits of OpenTable.com. Our system is designed to make the reservation process easier by enabling diners to search restaurant availability within seconds," he said. "At the same time, it allows restaurants to create stronger customer relationships through personalized service."
