MCLEAN, Va. / March 15, 2001--SynXis Corporation, a provider of reservation and distribution systems for the hospitality industry, announced today that MGM MIRAGE(TM)MGG is implementing the SynXis® reservation system for Global Distribution System (GDS) connectivity and Internet distribution in ten properties totaling over 22,000 guest rooms. Under this agreement, SynXis will be the exclusive provider of GDS access to the Las Vegas-based MGM MIRAGE properties, which includes the world's largest hotel/casino property, the MGM Grand, with more than 5,000 rooms.

SynXis empowers MGM MIRAGE to make real-time rate and availability changes for any or all properties from any location with Internet access. The changes are uploaded immediately to all four of the major GDSs serving more than 300,000 travel agents worldwide. This direct control gives MGM MIRAGE merchandising flexibility to add or change promotions quickly in response to changes in their market conditions.

In addition, MGM MIRAGE properties will have online booking capabilities so that consumers using the Internet can book rooms directly through the property Web sites.

Reservations made from the GDS or the Internet will be automatically downloaded into the MGM MIRAGE Property Management Systems (PMSs), significantly reducing manual data entry and labor costs.
