NEWTOWN SQUARE, Pa., Sept. 5 / Cruise411.com (www.cruise411.com), the Internet's leading provider of cruise information and reservation services, has announced the appointment of online travel pioneer Philip C. Wolf to its board of directors. The announcement comes on the heels of Cruise411.com's announcement of closing Series B financing and its first profitable month. Wolf has been a leading advocate of online interactive travel, tourism and hospitality services since 1989 and is president and CEO of PhoCusWright Inc., the leading Internet travel intelligence company. As a Cruise411 board member, Wolf will provide the company with guidance on industry best practices and advise management on current and emerging online travel strategies.

"Philip's background of industry success will provide us with critical insight into the online travel space as we continue to grow and stretch our lead in online cruise reservations," says Dave Lucas, president and CEO of Cruise411. "Philip saw the potential for online travel possibilities long before 'Internet' was a household word, and can thus provide us with a unique perspective on the ascent of the industry and its future. We look forward to the possibilities his participation represents to Cruise411."

Wolf is founder, president and CEO of PhoCusWright, a strategy and research company that helps its clients understand the online travel marketplace to make competitively advantaged decisions. In addition to a research and strategy practice, PhoCusWright produces the PhoCusWright Investor and Executive conferences, and publishes WebTravelNews, an online news publication covering travel and technology.

"With its robust and unbiased platform for providing information about and booking cruise travel online, Cruise411.com is well-positioned to succeed in this growing and promising marketplace," Wolf says. "The company's past performance is impressive and it has a strong mission for the future. I am pleased to join the Cruise411 board and I plan to contribute to its future success."

Prior to launching PhoCusWright in 1994, Wolf was president and CEO of Travelmation Corp., a venture-funded software developer and information provider specializing in automated airfare savings. After securing intellectual property patents, in 1992 he produced a market for, negotiated and closed on the sale of the business for his investment group.

Wolf currently serves on the board of Logibro, a vacation and tour e-commerce company, and Newtrade Technologies Inc., a provider of end-to-end automation and e-channel management solutions to the travel industry. He is a past board director, executive committee member and treasurer of the Interactive Services Association, now the Internet Alliance – the premier online Internet trade association. Wolf is past chairman and co-founder of the Travel Technology Association, an international education and advocacy trade group. He also serves as an adjunct professor at New York University's graduate school of travel and tourism.
