WASHINGTON / Oct. 17, 2001--OpenTable, Inc. (www.opentable.com), the leader in real-time online restaurant reservations today announced that is has entered into a strategic partnership with Maryland-based Informative Technologies, Inc., provider of the City Smart Information Network. OpenTable has integrated its real-time restaurant reservation engine with the City Smart concierge application in order to help concierges send more hotel guests to dine at OpenTable partner restaurants. The City Smart application enables hotel concierges to automate many aspects of their jobs including tracking of guest and vendor information, and links them directly to a network of both local and national travel and hospitality-oriented information. Now, it will also bring concierges the advantages of OpenTable's 24/7 online restaurant reservation engine.

OpenTable and Informative Technologies have completed a beta test of their combined offering and are currently rolling out the online reservation functionality to twenty of the top hotels in the City Smart network in the Washington DC and Baltimore areas including the Capital Hilton, the Willard Inter-Continental, the Mayflower Hotel, the St. Regis, the Ritz-Carlton Washington and the JW Marriott, among others. The combined offering will make the OpenTable reservation solution available to approximately 200 concierges in the DC/Baltimore area, some of whom make as many as 60 reservations per day. OpenTable plans to introduce the combined offering to hotels in more of its current 36 markets this year after completing the roll-out to current City Smart partner concierge desks in the DC and Baltimore area.

"Integrating our reservation engine with the City Smart application is a winning proposition for hotel concierges and for OpenTable's partner restaurants," said Douglas Boake, vice president of business development at OpenTable, Inc. "OpenTable restaurants will enjoy increased business from hotels, while concierges reap the benefits of instant online access to table availability at local restaurants as well as any other OpenTable restaurants across the country, even when a reservationist is not available. In addition, participating concierges now earn OpenTable Points good toward meals at their favorite restaurants when reserving online via OpenTable."

Response from area concierges to the new service has been enthusiastic. Luis Yliquin, Guest Services Supervisor at the Washington, DC J.W. Marriott flagship hotel said; "Our concierge desk is busy around the clock. The OpenTable solution lets us compare real-time restaurant availability, avoid waiting on hold, and get instant online confirmation of reservations, any time of day. Now our concierges can make three or four dining reservations in the amount of time it used to take to make just one."

"We recognize how important concierge business is to our bottom line and we look forward to making it easier for them to book with us," said Sallie Buben, co-owner with her husband Jeff of two popular local restaurants, Vidalia and Bistro Bis. "The DC area is one of the most visited cities in the country for both business and pleasure travelers, and restaurateurs are always looking for new ways to encourage business from visitors."
