DALLAS | Grand Hyatt DFW, the only Grand Hyatt located at an airport and one of the most upscale hotels at any airport in the world, will open July 1, 2005. The new hotel adjoins the new International Terminal D at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and marks the first Grand Hyatt to be built in Texas.

"Our new Grand Hyatt hotel will offer international and domestic travelers a new luxurious alternative for overnight stays, conferences and other events," said George Vizer, general manager for the Grand Hyatt DFW. "Our access directly into the International Terminal D and Skylink will be a great benefit to guests."

Grand Hyatt DFW guests also will be able to go straight to their gates at all airport terminals via the new Skylink Automated People Mover System, the world's largest high-speed airport train.

The 298-room hotel features a ballroom/banquet/meeting space, restaurants, lounge, fitness center, rooftop heated swimming pool and fully equipped fitness center with spa treatment rooms. The 303,675-square-foot hotel has 12 levels, eight of which have guest rooms. All guest rooms offer a full range of amenities, such as pillow-top Grand Beds, state-of-the-art 32-inch flat screen televisions with digital video-on-demand and premium cable service, over-sized bathrooms outfitted with a freestanding shower and soaking tub, a spacious granite-top work desk, high-speed wired and wireless Internet access and two in-room telephones.

"This hotel will be unlike any airport hotel you have ever visited," said Clay Paslay, DFW executive vice president of airport development. "It's going to be a wonderful, relaxing and beautiful amenity for our customers at DFW Airport."

Guests will be able to access the hotel from the curbside entry at the concourse or they can enter directly from International Terminal D. Complimentary transportation will be available to all DFW Airport terminals via the Skylink.

The hotel will be a prime destination for domestic travelers, as well as the North Texas community, for conferences, banquets, galas and upscale getaways. Located below the International Terminal D Concourse is a ballroom level with 34,000 square feet of ballrooms and 45 meeting rooms that offer individual or master controls for heat/AC, sound, music, telephones, multiple electrical/microphone outlets and programmable lighting effects. In addition, a full-service business center is offered to hotel guests for their business needs.

DFW Airport will own the hotel and Chicago-based Hyatt Hotels Corporation will manage the property for the Airport.

"Grand Hyatt hotels are exceptionally well known and regarded internationally," said Steve Goldman, executive vice president of development for Hyatt Hotels Corp. "By placing a Grand Hyatt at the International Terminal D at DFW Airport, we have strategically placed the hotel as the only Grand Hyatt at an airport in the United States and one of the most upscale hotels at any airport in the world. This is an exciting opportunity for us. We will continue to provide leisure and business travelers the same Grand Hyatt standards of luxury and personal guest attention."

Grand Hyatt hotels serve culturally rich destinations that attract leisure and business travelers as well as large-scale meetings and conventions. The hotels, reflecting a grand scale and refinement, include features such as state-of-the-art technology, sophisticated business and leisure facilities, banquet and conference facilities of world-class standard and specialized programs that cater to discriminating business and vacation guests.
