BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. | Hilton Hotels Corporation has announced that Robert O. Balmer has been named general manager of the Doubletree Hotel San Jose. A veteran Hilton employee for more than 20 years, Balmer recently held the position of general manager at The Wyland Waikiki in Honolulu, which was formerly operated as a Doubletree Hotel. Prior to that, he served as general manager of the 488-room Hilton Burbank Airport & Convention Center from 2004 to 2006.

Balmer started his career in hospitality in 1985 with Red Lion Hotels® and held various management roles at hotels in Seattle, Colorado Springs, and Sonoma County, San Jose, Costa Mesa and Ontario, Calif. In 1996, he received his first general manager role at the Doubletree Hotel Eureka. Balmer was named general manager of the Doubletree Club Las Vegas Airport in 1998 and held the same role at the Doubletree Hotel Bakersfield from 2000 to 2004.

A native of Puyallup, Wash., Balmer received his bachelor’s degree in Hotel & Restaurant Administration from Washington State University. He is a Certified Hotel Administrator.
