“Langham Place” Welcomes Beijing Olympics 2008
Langham Hotels International Manages Langham Place Beijing Capital Airport Hotel
Hong Kong | Langham Hotels International (LHI) announces the signing of a new management contract for its second hotel in Beijing – Langham Place Beijing Capital Airport Hotel, which is scheduled to open in mid 2008, prior to the Summer Olympic Games. Strategically located adjacent to the new Terminal 3 of Beijing’s only international airport, the five-star Langham Place hotel will promise a revolutionary luxury airport hotel experience to world travellers and business guests.
The new Langham Place Hotel will open its door to meet the market’s robust demand for luxury hotels next year. As the political, cultural and economic capital of China, Beijing has long been the magnet for business and leisure travellers. The Olympics will further enhance the appeal of Beijing’s tourism, heating up the city’s hotel industry with a significant surge of visitors. “Beijing will become the centre of the world’s attention when the city hosts the summer Olympic Games next year. The huge number of visitors and substantial media attention will provide the perfect platform and golden opportunity for launching our new luxury Langham Place brand in China,” said Dr. KS Lo, Chairman, Langham Hotels International.
Conveniently located adjacent to the newly constructed Terminal 3, Langham Place Hotel is perfectly positioned for both transit and longer term guests. The Hotel is also just minutes away from the new China International Exhibition Centre and Tianzhu Airport Industrial Zone. This ideal location makes it the preferred choice for business travellers, trade fair visitors and event organisers to the airport area.
Living up to the “Langham Place” brand, the six-storey Hotel will introduce a refreshing and stimulating hospitality experience in an ambience of modern elegance surrounded by a gallery of contemporary art and latest technology offerings. The Hotel will provide over 400 luxurious bedrooms and suites, allowing guests to relax and unwind in ultimate comfort. Food and beverage facilities will include a beer house fun pub, Chinese and Japanese cuisine restaurants as well an interactive all day dining buffet restaurant and Langham Place’s Portal Bar concept where Work and Play intertwine in an entertaining, contemporary atmosphere. With 4,000 sqm of flexible function space and inspired catering service, Langham Place Hotel will be the perfect venue for staging events of varying scales. For guests desiring a rejuvenating break, the Hotel will house a magnificent Chuan Spa based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. As well, the Hotel will house a 5,000sqm water park, a great amenity for families to enjoy.
“Langham Place’s unique modern brand identity, together with our innovative Total Quality Management (TQM), will change the face of Beijing’s luxury hotel industry and add a new definition of contemporary hospitality to airport hotels,” said Dr. KS Lo.
This management contract was signed between Capital Airport Holdings Co. and Langham Hotels International, who won over international luxury hotel chain with its excellent performance records and successful Langham Place brand concept. This is LHI’s third new hotel announcement within the past 6 months, reflecting the group’s ambitious expansion plan in China.
