Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI) – the vacation ownership division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) – has appointed Corey Guest to general manager at Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club and J. Scott Derrickson to general manager at Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club. Guest and Derrickson come to the two properties adjacent to the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in Palm Beach, Aruba with more than 45-years of combined experience in the hospitality industry.

Corey Guest began his career in hotel management as an employee relations and housing manger at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman. He was then promoted to assistant director of human resources at the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino and in 1995, served as director of human resources at the Wyndham Aruba Beach Resort & Casino. Guest later returned to the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort & Casino as the director of human resources. In his most recent role, Guest served as the director of human resources for Marriott’s Aruba Ocean Club, as well as the Aruba Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino and Marriott’s Aruba Surf Club.

Scott Derrickson began his career as the director of restaurants at the Wyndham Paradise Valley Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz. and later moved to the Crown Sterling Suites where he served as the food and beverage director. From there he worked at the Five Diamond, Five Star Phoenician in various food and beverage management roles. From 1993 to 1997, Derrickson was both owner and general manager at the La Bodega, San Francisco Club in San Jose, Costa Rica. He then moved back to Scottsdale, Ariz. where he served as the beverage manager for the Five Diamond, Five Star Fairmont Scottsdale. In 1998, he transitioned to Aruba where he worked for the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa and the Wyndham Aruba Beach Resort & Casino in various roles. Most recently, Derrickson served as the director of operations at the Radisson Aruba Resort, Casino & Spa.

Guest is originally from Missouri and received his Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and management from the University of Texas in Austin, Texas. Born in Germany, Derrickson grew up in both New Hampshire and Florida before studying at Scottsdale Community College in Scottsdale, Ariz. where he took general courses in graphic design and computer programming. Both, Guest and Derrickson are married with two children and reside in Palm Beach, Aruba.
