New Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) Resources Fit Needs of 21st Century Hoteliers
Orlando, Florida—The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (EI) has reformatted the study materials it provides to candidates for the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) certification, and also introduced a new exam preparation booklet to help candidates streamline and focus their study and exam preparation more effectively.
Candidates for the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) designation will now receive a CHA Exam Preparation Booklet packaged with the resource materials that EI provides to help CHA candidates prepare for the certification exam. These resource materials, formerly available as three books, will now come on a single CD, increasing the portability and convenience of the review materials for busy executives on the move. The CD contains material on the six key knowledge areas that CHA candidates are expected to know as general managers: financial management, sales and marketing management, leadership, human resources management, rooms management, and food and beverage management.
The accompanying exam preparation booklet lets candidates assess their knowledge and experience by individual competency, and then directs them to the specific resource by volume, chapter, and subject for study and review, which is easier to do using the CD. The goal is to help CHA candidates better manage their time by focusing their study on the sections of the resource materials on which they need to spend the most time.
The CHA enrollment fee of $650 ($450 for AH&LA members) includes the CHA Exam Preparation Booklet and CD.The CHA is the most prestigious certification available to hotel general managers and hospitality executives. It identifies them as part of an elite group of hospitality professionals who by combining education and experience with dedication to the industry have achieved a high level of expertise. Globally recognized, the CHA is a highly respected professional credential that validates one’s advanced knowledge in the hospitality industry. It is an honor awarded to lodging professionals whose leadership and managerial abilities are exemplary.
Candidates who submit a CHA application by September 1, 2009, and meet the program prerequisites, can also purchase the new CHA Online Assessment Tool for only $25 (a $75 value). The Assessment Tool consists of six 30-question quizzes that correlate to the six sections of the CHA resource materials. After completing the quizzes, candidates receive an evaluation report indicating their score and skill level against the required benchmarks. The assessment includes a review of missed questions and also identifies where the correct information may be found in the CHA study guide for further review.
Candidates should reference offer code CHA25 when ordering the assessment tool.
