The Peninsula Shanghai is Acclaimed as the World's Best Business Hotel by Travel + Leisure Magazine
SHANGHAI – The Peninsula Shanghai has been honoured by Travel + Leisure magazine as the world's finest business hotel. In the December 2012 issue of Travel + Leisure, widely recognised as a leading international authority on travel and tourism trends, the US-based magazine published its list of the best hotels for business travellers in cities around the world as voted for by its readers in the annual World's Best Awards survey.
The Peninsula Shanghai topped Travel + Leisure's global Top Hotels for Business list, and the business hotel ranking for Shanghai, with an impressive score of 97.78. The Peninsula Shanghai was the only hotel in China to make the listing of the Top 5 Hotels for Business Worldwide in 2012. In addition to the success of The Peninsula Shanghai, seven other Peninsula hotels - in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong and Tokyo - were also voted amongst Travel + Leisure's Top 3 Business Hotels in their respective cities.
Every year, the readers of Travel + Leisure are requested to nominate the hotels that represent the very best in worldwide business travel. Respondents are encouraged to rate hotels on room quality and amenities, facilities for business travellers, location, service standards, restaurants and food, and overall value. All respondents are carefully screened by Travel + Leisure, and responses from any identified travel-industry professionals who completed the survey are eliminated from the final tally.
"It is a tremendous honour for The Peninsula Shanghai to be recognised as the world's best business hotel by a highly respected authority on travel, Travel + Leisure. This is one of the most coveted awards in the global travel industry, and it is a testament to the sophistication of our cutting-edge proprietary technology and the ultimate comfort and service standards created by our dedicated team. As we move towards a new calendar year, we are motivated as a team and a family to continue adopting the spirit of The Peninsula Shanghai and endlessly strive to create unique experiences and memorable moments to delight our guests," said Joseph W.Y. Chong, General Manager of The Peninsula Shanghai.
