Steigenberger Parkhotel in Braunschweig (Germany) opens its doors
The Steigenberger Parkhotel in Braunschweig is ready. On 26 August 2013, the four-star superior establishment will officially greet its first guests. They will be arriving at a modern business hotel with historic construction elements which are listed.
Accommodation: timeless design and state-of-the-art technology
Set in the idyllic surroundings of the "Bürgerpark", the hotel offers 163 rooms including disabled-accessible accommodation and facilities that are suitable for allergy sufferers. There are 13 Junior Suites and three suites with their own outdoor terrace. The rooms are decorated in exquisite natural shades of colour and come equipped with the latest media and communication technology. The "Henry the Lion" Suite at the Steigenberger Parkhotel delivers an unprecedented experience. Extending over an area of 81 square metres, it includes a bedroom, a living area, a separate boardroom, its own roof terrace and a private sauna.
Meetings and events: successful conferences and celebrations
The centrepiece of the new Steigenberger Parkhotel is its 910 square metre conference area. Set in a listed "historical machine shop" with a ceiling height of 8.20 metres, it provides an extraordinary event location that can accommodate up to 450 participants and can be hired for both business and private functions. In combination with its separate foyer with an area of 140 square metres the "historical machine shop" is ideally suited to the staging of major events. The main conference wing contains seven of the eleven conference rooms, all of which offer outside access via terrace areas. All the events facilities are equipped with modern conference technology and air conditioning as well as enjoying the benefits of natural daylight.
A health and beauty spa refuge that creates the feel-good factor
The health and beauty spa area at the Steigenberger Parkhotel, which stretches over an area of 250 square metres and offers views out over the "Bürgerpark", fulfils every heart's desire. Massages, a separate ladies' sauna with its own relaxation zone are all available. Those seeking something a little more strenuous can try out a range of equipment in the hotel's gym and sports area or use one of the many jogging and walking routes in the adjoining park.
Cuisine of the very highest order
The Steigenberger Parkhotel is also able to provide a full range of culinary delights. The international and regional dishes served up in the restaurant "Brasserie an der Oker" are a real gourmet treat. Once the creations have been prepared in the open show kitchen, they can be enjoyed on a sun terrace set on the bank of the River Oker with views of a listed water tower. The "Vinothek" offers a wide selection of open wines and a range of exclusive dishes, whilst the "Lounge 1777" bar serves food all day and is an ideal place in which to relax.
The Steigenberger Parkhotel in Braunschweig has been developed by the Hanover-based company bauwo Grundstücks Gesellschaft with a total investment of 28 million euros. It will be operated under the Steigenberger brand by arcona HOTELS & RESORTS from Rostock. Arcona is already running 14 top hotels in Germany, including five under licence agreement with the Steigenberger Group.
Matthias Heck, Chief Financial Officer of Steigenberger Hotels AG, Alexander Winter, Managing Director of arcona HOTELS & RESORTS, Federal Minister of Economics Dr. Philip Rösler and the Chief Mayor of Braunschweig Dr. Gert Hoffman are all expected to attend the official opening ceremony on 23 August 2013, at which the ceremonial handing over of the key will also take place.
