Pan Pacific Hotels Group extends China footprint with the opening of Pan Pacific Tianjin
With five "Pan Pacific" properties in Xiamen, Suzhou, Ningbo and Tianjin, China is now the largest operating market for the Group outside of its Singapore headquarters
Singapore -- Pan Pacific Hotels Group has announced the opening of the 319-unit Pan Pacific Tianjin in China. This is the fifth "Pan Pacific" in China after four other "Pan Pacific" hotels and serviced suites in Xiamen, Suzhou and Ningbo, marking the extension of the brand footprint along the east coast and into the northern region.
The largest coastal city in northern China, Tianjin is about 30 minutes by high-speed train from Beijing and is a major seaport and gateway to the Chinese capital. Home to some 300 Fortune 500 companies, it has become an important hub for industrial and financial activity. The city's historic architecture, cultural monuments and exotic cuisine are some of its main tourism draws.
Part of mixed-use development, The Esplanade, Pan Pacific Tianjin is situated along the scenic Haihe River and at the intersection of the key commercial districts of Hongqiao, Nankai and Hebei. It is a 40-minute drive from Tianjin Binhai International Airport and 10 minutes away from Tianjin Railway Station. Blending history and traditions of the East with luxury and modernity of the West, the new property promises to deliver the distinctive "Pan Pacific" brand of hospitality through a wide range of elegant accommodation choices, diverse culinary delights, versatile event spaces and discreet, personalised service that have incorporated elements of the vibrant local culture.
Perfectly meeting the needs of both short-term and extended-stay travellers, Pan Pacific Tianjin features 289 exquisitely furnished guestrooms with either a city or river view, and 30 well-appointed serviced suites with full kitchenette and laundry facilities.
Designed by internationally acclaimed Singapore architectural firm DP Architects and Hong Kong-based interior design house Cheng Chung Designs, the property has adopted the use of soothing Pacific hues of gold, blue and grey, as well as earthy textures of wood and stone. Meanwhile, the art pieces on the guestrooms' walls reflect the various architectural styles that can be found across Tianjin.
With its exciting menu of culinary offerings, Pan Pacific Tianjin is all set to establish itself as a leading player in the city's dining scene. Selections include the all-day dining restaurant Pacifica which serves Asian and Pacific-inspired cuisine; signature "Pan Pacific" Chinese restaurant Hai Tien Lo that presents Cantonese classics and local specialties; a Noodle Bar for a quick-fix quality meal; and the elegant Lobby Lounge that provides a conducive setting for casual and business meetings over drinks and light bites.
The property's strategic location in the heart of the city and extensive range of meeting facilities makes it the ideal venue for events of every kind. In-house business and meeting solutions comprise a Business Centre, Pacific Club with a private meeting room, 10 flexible meeting rooms with a total floor space over 750 square metres, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi access in all guestrooms. The expansive 640 square-metre Pacific Ballroom, equipped with advanced audio-visual technology and supported by a team of knowledgeable Pan Pacific associates who stand ready to provide customised event services, also helps set the stage for a memorable wedding or banquet experience.
To relax and unwind, guests can enjoy recreational facilities such as the exclusive Pacific Club Lounge, complimentary bicycle rental, an indoor temperature controlled swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre and Escape by i-Spa.
Reinhold Johann, General Manager, Pan Pacific Tianjin, says, "Against the backdrop of Tianjin's booming economic prospects, we are excited to bring the award-winning "Pan Pacific" brand to Tianjin through a sleek, premium hotel product which we are confident will be very well-received by the local and international community."
"Be it accommodation, events, dining or recreation, we have taken every care in the conceptualisation of our amenity and service offerings to design a refreshing Pacific experience around the needs of our guests. As we celebrate the launch of our property, my team and I are greatly looking forward to setting a new luxury and service benchmark in the thriving harbour city."
With five "Pan Pacific" properties, China is currently the largest operating market for Pan Pacific Hotels Group outside of its headquarters Singapore where it owns and/or manages eight "Pan Pacific" and PARKROYAL hotels and serviced suites.
"China has long been earmarked as a critically important source and growth market for the Group. Since we began operating our first "Pan Pacific" hotel in China in 2009, we have been actively seeking development opportunities to grow our presence in gateway destinations across the country," says Bernold O. Schroeder, Chief Executive Officer, Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
"We are delighted that the new Pan Pacific Tianjin will complement our other "Pan Pacific" properties in key secondary cities to augment the brand equity we already enjoy among Chinese and international travellers. As the Chinese travel market continues to expand and mature, we look forward to riding on the country's dynamic tourism developments to write the next chapter of our own compelling China growth story."
Outside of China, Pan Pacific Hotels Group opened PARKROYAL Nay Pyi Taw in April – the first international hotel brand in Myanmar's capital, Nay Pyi Taw. The Group also has within its pipeline another six hotels and resorts in Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar and London.
