The inaugural IHG European Business School was held in association with the Oxford School of Hospitality Management, Oxford Brookes University, from 24th to 26th August 2015. Over 100 delegates, all employees of IHG selected on the basis of their performance and potential, gathered for a 'back to university' intensive learning experience.

Gil Mulders, IHG's Head of Learning for Europe commented, "Our partnership with Oxford School of Hospitality Management made it possible for us to offer a unique development opportunity to our colleagues from 22 countries across Europe. A close collaboration with the IHG Owners Association ensured that this opportunity was open to all our 600 hotels in the region, adding 'learning' to the list of reasons for owners to choose IHG as a business partner. The IHG European Business School is only the beginning of the journey. Our learning team is now coaching each of the delegates to deliver tangible results by the end of the year."

IHG has had a close working relationship with the Oxford School of Hospitality Management for many years. This has focused on executive development in fields such as revenue and financial management, applied research projects in risk mitigation, graduate recruitment, and the provision of internships. Speaking on behalf of the School, Programme Lead Angela Maher commented, "We are very proud of our partnership with IHG. Graduates of the Oxford School of Hospitality Management hold senior positions with the company in all parts of the world, and it continues to be an employer of choice for those with ambition and flare. The basis of our partnership is a shared commitment to nurturing young talent and to finding new and innovative approaches to business practice. I look forward to many more years of mutually beneficial collaboration."
