Halifax is one of the most expensive cities in Canada based on the cost of its lodging. The provincial capital of Nova Scotia ranks third priciest among 30 destinations considered by a recent survey. The survey was conducted by CheapHotels.org.

In compiling the rankings, the average rate for the cheapest available double room during the month of June was established for 30 urban destinations in Canada. During June, most destinations in Canada reach their highest average rates, making that month a good comparative timeframe.
