A fresh new concept for London's hotel sector has just floated in to the Royal Victoria Dock, offering an exciting splash of waterside hospitality and community spirit to the London Docklands. Good Hotel London is the latest property to join HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts' independent portfolio in the UK capital.

Good Hotel is anchored on the Royal Victoria Dock within easy reach of DLR's Royal Victoria station, Emirates Cable Car, and London City Airport. It is also a prime location for the nearby London O2, ExCeL Exhibition Centre and Canary Wharf Business District. The hotel docked earlier this month and is scheduled to open for business within December.

The ethos of Good Hotel is based on providing support and value to the local community; essentially a hotel with a social conscience. It is part of the Good Group organisation; a profit-for non-profit company founded in 2012 by Dutch entrepreneur Marten Dresen. Its aim is to provide a top quality hotel experience and to achieve this by also giving something back to society by providing long-term unemployed locals with on-site, customised hospitality training and also, where possible, to provide locally sourced produce in the hotel bar, café and restaurant.

Most recently Good Hotel was based in Amsterdam where it was a successful, award winning operation within its first year of trading. The hotel features 148 en-suite guest rooms, ranging from standard to deluxe, a rooftop garden and café, a social 'living room' with free WiFi and serving locally sourced food & drinks, as well as four naturally lit meeting rooms offering unique views over the water. All guest rooms are smartly decorated with custom made design elements and also include free Wi-Fi and iPads are provided for the free use of hotel guests.

Marten Dresen of Good Group said:

"The Royal Victoria Dock is the perfect location for Good Hotel and we aim to offer a fantastic experience for discerning leisure and business travellers alike. Moreover, we want to give something back to this vibrant community and hope that we can offer a practical career option for locals who have found it difficult to get that first break or step back into work."

Good Hotel London is now fully bookable on the GDS, or by calling the HotelREZ reservation call centre. Travel Agents attending World Travel Market in London this November, can also book an exclusive show around by emailing: [email protected].
