Boston University School of Hospitality Admin launches first graduate program, Master of Management in Hospitality
The Boston University School of Hospitality Administration has launched its first-ever graduate program, the Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH). The programs first cohort will begin in July 2017 and will offer both full-time and part-time options.
"The hospitality industry has become more complex financially, operationally, and technologically. In response to the evolution of the world of hospitality, so too does the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration expand and change," says Dr. Arun Upneja, Dean of the School of Hospitality Administration, "This one-year MMH program, including one internship experience, will prepare graduates for a hospitality leadership career whether they already have experience in the industry or not."
After extensive research, planning, and consideration of the industry's future, the program is prepared to serve as the global standard in hospitality. Faculty and guest lecturers will bring their diverse perspectives to class every day, and the curriculum will challenge students to look at issues and opportunities from every angle, preparing them to apply these lessons anywhere in the world.
In addition to embodying Boston University's commitment to innovation, research, and intellectual rigor, the MMH program will be perfectly situated in a hospitality hub. Boston provides a unique space where hospitality professionals overlap with medicine, education, technology, tourism, and sports, offering training and career opportunities unlike any other city.
"The hospitality industry is filled with those who thrive on human interaction and are drawn towards the idea of leaving a lasting impression; they want to experience both the world and world of business at the same time, therefore we envision the MMH is most appropriate for career switchers, recent graduates from either a liberal arts or business-focused major, and hospitality professionals who need ongoing education to remain competitive in our changing industry," said Upneja.
The application for the MMH is now open; the deadline to apply is May 1, 2017. Further details about the programs curriculum, schedule, cost, and application are available on the School of Hospitality Administration's website.
