Best Western celebrates successes across the board in 2017
Best Western has hit the ground running this year. After a successful 2016, 2017 seems set to be another mammoth year for the Arizona-based hotel company. With expansions into Asia and growth planned across some of the company's sub-brands, the future looks bright for Best Western, according to recent press releases by the group.
The hotel group's increased presence in Asia began last year by setting a goal to up its portfolio in the region by 40% over the coming years with a range of new-build and high quality hotels. At the time Best Western operated 107 hotels in Asia, with nearly 50 projected hotels in the pipeline. The group is looking to expand its concept hotels Vib and Glo (4 and 3 star respectively) in the area which are aimed at tech-savvy travelers, and they have already signed some Vib projects in Bangkok and Yangon, among others. Two of the company's midscale brands, Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier, are also earmarked for development in Asia. Thailand is set to receive three new hotels with a total key count of over 4,000, a number of these being within the Premier Collection, which is deemed to be a perfect fit for Thailand, appealing to guests seeking individuality and local charm in their accommodations.
Best Western Premier Collection, a carefully curated portfolio of upscale and luxury boutique hotels selected for their superior facilities and unique character, has also recently proven to be one of the most successful brands, with the number of hotels in that brand surpassing 75 worldwide this month. Launched in 2015, this points to unprecedented growth for the collection, which is based on a pay-per-performance model designed to provide flexibility for independent hoteliers who have in the past been reluctant to enter into partnership with big-name hotels.
Let's take a look at some of the more interesting projects that are currently underway :
