Hilton has competed a major dual-brand hotel signing in Heliopolis Cairo, one that continues its growth and development in Egypt.
This landmark deal comes more than 60 years after Hilton opened its first property in Cairo. The new hotel coming out of this deal is the Hilton Cairo Helipolis. Hilton, which is of course one of the leading hotel companies on the planet, has also confirmed new plans to debut a property within its luxury brand Waldorf Astoria in Egypt later this year. Once it is rebranded, this property will by the Hilton company's first Waldorf Astoria property anywhere on the African continent, and industry experts say that the move could serve to stake ground for Hilton as the primary luxury hotel operator in the region.
Hilton Strengthens its Presence in Africa
Hilton has signed a pair of management agreements with Gulf-Egypt for Hotels & Tourism (S.A.E.).
It is through these agreements that Hilton will operate Heliopolis Hotel & Towers Luxury Hotel under two distinct brands. Currently, a 593-room upscale Hilton property is welcoming new guests. This is happening alongside the 247-room Towers Luxury Hotel. The later property is the one that is slated to eventually rebrand as Waldorf Astoria Cairo. This rebranding, officials have said, will take place in the wake of an ambitious renovation program.
Hilton's Ambitious Renovation Plans
The aforementioned ambitious renovation program is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2018.
This refurbishment will create a new hub for luxury travelers in Africa. The idea, officials with Hilton have said, is to bring Waldorf Astoria's inspiration environments, unforgettable experiences, and True Waldorf Service to the continent for the first time ever.
What this means in construction terms is that there will be a redesign of all 247 guestrooms and suites that make up the property. This will be done with a customized design concept that stands to reflect the finest traditions of Egyptian hospitality. It will also involve a renovation of the spacious lobby atrium area that will create an iconic arrival experience for all guests. Finally there will be a refined destination spa added to the property, and Waldorf Astoria Cairo's Personal Conceriges will guarantee that each and every guest will receive anticipatory and personal services before, during and after their stay at the property.
