Burj Al Arab Double Crowned Best Hotel In The World And Best Hotel In The Middle East At The Ultratravel Awards — Photo by Jumeirah

One of the world's most iconic and luxurious hotels in the world - Burj Al Arab - was double recognized as the Best Hotel in the World and Best Hotel in the Middle East at the prestigious Ultratravel Awards -The ULTRAs- hosted by The Telegraph Magazine.

An architectural marvel of 320 meters high (fifth tallest hotel in the world) designed by British Architect Tom Wright that has put Dubai on the world map, the sail-shaped 7 star hotel was designed to reflect the iconic nature of the city under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This luxury landmark is a testament of the emirate's past and still a window to its exciting bright future.

CEO of Jumeirah Group José Silva said: "It is with the greatest joy that we receive such a fantastic accolade for Burj Al Arab. I am so proud that the Burj al Arab, 20 years after its construction, still remains undisputedly the most iconic hotel in the world with more than 202 Presidential Suites (min 120 sqm) offering breathless views and more than 120 butlers delivering service beyond expectations. This property continues to be a unique business model for the luxury hospitality industry."

Two years ago, the hotel added a fantastic Terrace floating over the sea- a 10,000sqm luxury destination complete with a restaurant, a bar and lounge, a breathtaking 828sqm saltwater infinity pool (80 meters long) and 32 private and exclusive cabanas. A truly singular experience at the foot of this architectural masterpiece.

Also commenting on the win, Anthony Costa - Regional Vice President, Jumeirah Group and Managing Director of Burj Al Arab Jumeirah said: "It is truly an honour for Burj Al Arab to receive such great double recognitions at The Ultras. A hotel steeped in iconic heritage and legacy, but with a highly ambitious spirit - much like the spirit of everything is possible in Dubai - that allows it to maintain its leadership position. This property is all about passion, creating lifelong memories and to mesmerize guests at every moment."

The evolution of Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Group continues with the recent addition of a Chief Culinary Officer to the senior leadership team. Previously working as Managing Director of the Michelin Guide globally, Michael Ellis has joined Jose Silva and team to position Burj Al Arab and indeed the wider group of Jumeirah hotels, as home to the best dining destinations in the Middle East and the world. Michael will be introducing two new Michelin starred Chefs into the team, working to further enhance the culinary offering of the hotel. Not so known, the Burj al Arab is today one of the most photographed superstructures in the world -and indeed the most followed individual hotel on Instagram- and is the jewel in Dubai's crown which never ceases to evolve and innovate.

The ULTRAs - Ultimate Luxury Travel Related Awards - are the result of a global survey by leading luxury travel media platform, Ultratravel.
