For the second consecutive year, Accor is continuing its partnership, in music, with the Montreux Jazz Festival, from June 28 to July 13. The Group treated its guests, partners and festival-goers to some unforgettable experiences, to the rhythm of several unprecedented events. The event was attended by nearly 250,000 people, who basked in glorious sunshine. Back on this 53rd edition!A year ago, Accor and the Montreux Jazz Festival announced their global partnership. Created in the same era, in their respective fields the 2 organizations had developed global reputations, sharing a passion for innovation and new technologies to stir the emotions of their customers.

The partnership enables us to highlight several of our brands, through unique events. The evidence is plain, with the Group staging 5 exclusive experiences this year: La Terrasse ibis MUSIC, the ALL House of Vinyl, the Orient Express trip and reproduction and the Fairmont World Tour.

ibis sets the Festival on fire

To activate the ibis MUSIC program, launched a few months ago, the brand invited itself to the Montreux Jazz Festival with "La Terrasse ibis MUSIC". On the program? 17 free concerts with some famous Sony Music artists: Charlie Winston,Klingande, Broken Back, Tim Dup, Part-time Friends or Boulevard des Airs...

Built on the shores of Lake Geneva, the 4,300 square foot terrace, open every day, was totally dedicated to live music. With a vibrant atmosphere evolving over the day: bar and laid-back vibe until the afternoon, intimate pop and electro gigs at sunset followed by DJ sets until 4am… "La Terrasse ibis MUSIC" was a great hit, becoming THE unmissable place to be at the Festival!

With a passion for supporting emerging talent and celebrating live music, the ibis MUSIC program is a 360° activation, with regular concerts in hotels, musical moments punctuating the customer journey, special offers for musicians and an international contest for emerging artists. As part of this competition, ibis will also be involved in the summer at the Sziget Festival in Budapest from August 7 to 13, 2019.

A new treasure trove for music lovers

It is in the heart of the peaceful "Garden" of the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace that the Montreux Jazz Festival set up its VIP hospitality village. This year, Accor placed the "ALL House of Vinyl" there. It opened its doors to artists, guest partners, and, for the 1st time in the festival's history, guests of the Fairmont Le Montreux Palace.

An oasis of calm where guests can enjoy an unsurpassed view of Lake Geneva and let themselves be carried away on a musical journey within one of the finest vinyl collections in the world...

Collector Fred Bernard, radio host at RTS, was back this year to welcome guests and take them on a journey around this vast collection, made up of unique pieces tracing the history of Montreux Jazz Festival.

And, for a fitting accompaniment to the musical ambience, guests were able to enjoy 3 rooftops, 2 music lounges, a spirits bar or the cigar cellar. Facilities that add even more to the audio experience offered by Accor and its new ALL loyalty program.

Bathe in music on board the Orient Express

In Montreux, the celebrated Train Bleu carriage, dating from the 1920s, embodies the luxury and splendor of the Golden Age of Travel … And so the general public visited the Montreux Music & Convention Center to admire this splendid identical reproduction. Inside: artist showcases, "Silent Play", in collaboration with Yamaha, etc. Festival-goers were even invited to take us on a journey with their own melodies, with a piano and a microphone available for anyone to use.

Who will be the new voice of Fairmont?

The Fairmont Le Montreux Palace is at the heart of the Montreux Jazz Festival. Every year, the palace invites artists, festival-goers and music lovers of all kinds to discover iconic spots such as the "House of Jazz". Every day, jam sessions and concerts by emerging artists are held there, embodying the true spirit of Montreux.

This is a fantastic gateway for the Fairmont brand, which this summer renewed its sponsorship with a tour by artists at its hotels. After the Fairmont European Tour last year, won by the American singer Jalen N'Gonda, comes the Fairmont World Tour this year!

Again with a focus on promoting new emerging talents, this time 2 prize-winners have been chosen from among the 'favorite' artists of the Festival and Fairmont. On top: an international tour in 20 palaces of the brand, across the world.

In the era of perfectly professionally curated tours, the Festival stands out, more than ever, as a place where excellence and emotion are the most important things. These values are shared with Accor, and the promise is that their partnership will be further boosted in the years ahead.
