At Accor, we are proud of our differences and we are saying it loud and clear on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

As the year draws to a close, the whole world worked to raise awareness on the integration of people with disabilities into society and the workforce during European Disability Employment Week, which took place from November 16 to 22. On December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities allows us to reaffirm the Group's strong commitment to diversity—the core principle of our managerial ethics—and to learn about the dedicated awareness campaign #DisabilityStories launched by our Diversity & Inclusion teams.

Values rooted in our DNA

From the outset, and especially during this public health crisis, our Group remains committed to equal opportunities by strengthening its actions for the inclusion of people with disabilities. This commitment is part of an initiative toward openness, the promotion of professional equality, and the prevention of discrimination, wherever we are. Since 2015, Accor has also been a signatory of the Global Business and Disability Charter of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and has adopted its 10 principles.

Awareness-raising, work station adaptation, and prevention actions are also carried out on a daily basis in hotels and head offices around the world. Applications from individuals with disabilities on our recruitment website are processed by trained recruiters and/or by the Mission for the Integration of Disabled Persons (MIPH) team.

#DisabilityStories

The #DisabilityStories campaign was launched on November 16 as a fun way to increase awareness among our Heartists. Five real-life stories that are sometimes experienced on a daily basis by employees and guests with disabilities are brought to life through educational comic strips. Since 80% of declared disabilities are invisible
and that one in two people is affected by a disability at some point in their life—either temporarily or permanently—the campaign sends a powerful message: at Accor, we welcome everyone while respecting their differences by giving priority to skills alone.

The aim of our Group is that all our Talents flourish during their careers in the best possible conditions, and this is reflected in our approach to provide these individuals with adapted solutions where disability exists.
