We are proud to share that Airbnb has been named to the Parity.org Best Companies for Women to Advance List 2021. This list recognizes organizations that have implemented a mix of exemplary benefits, policies, and programs that ensure women have significant opportunities to advance their careers.

Companies on the list were rated in areas of equality in hiring and promotion practices, inclusion, representation of women in leadership, and enablers, such as benefits and other policies, that help companies achieve equitable outcomes.

Airbnb promotes connection and belonging, and to achieve our mission, our company must reflect the diversity of our global community. We continue taking concrete steps to build a workplace where employees of all backgrounds and identities feel welcome, including working to promote gender equity. Some of the steps we can taken include:

  • Setting long-term representation goals: we have committed that by the end of 2025, at every level, 50 percent of our global employees who identify in the gender binary will be women.
  • Growing our inclusive hiring practices, including new training to help ensure hiring managers have tangible strategies to integrate diversity into hiring, and implementing diverse candidate slates in 2017
  • Reinvigorating our mentorship and sponsorship programs to help grow and retain underrepresented talent.
  • Prioritizing equal pay for equal work for all: we have conducted a pay equity analysis annually since 2015 to examine and adjust pay gaps.
  • Offering 10 weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of phased return to work for families, which provides a four-day work week for full-time employees.
  • Providing flexibility and benefits to help parents and caregivers navigate the challenges of COVID-19.
  • Continuing to expand our definitions of diversity to help us better understand and support our employees. Recently, we began offering the opportunity for our US-based employees to identify as a parent or caregiver.
