Ramada’s Strategic Expansion in Asia Pacific

In line with our goal to open 2,000 hotels by 2025, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts will continue to identify opportunities to introduce Ramada by Wyndham brand into strategic markets.

In Greater China, the brand enjoys robust presence. In first-tier cities such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Changsha, and Hong Kong, to small and medium-sized cities such as Linxiang City in Hunan Province, Yuxi City in Yunnan Province and Nanping City in Fujian Province, Ramada by Wyndham brand’s footprint can be seen in popular and emerging destinations.

Additionally, in Changsha, Wuhan, Shanghai, and Chenzhou, Ramada by Wyndham opened multiple hotels in these four cities. This is testament to our successful efforts to understand and anticipate the needs of owners and guests alike. The latest addition in China is Ramada by Wyndham Guilin Yangshuo Resort, a restful retreat featuring 180 comfortable rooms, surrounded by breathtaking landscape of limestone hills and is minutes from the picturesque road of Ten Mile Gallery.

Additionally, 15 Ramada by Wyndham-branded hotels are expected to open in China by the end of 2022, with a total of over 2,000 rooms. For instance, the 150-room Ramada by Wyndham Changsha West located in Changsha which is an important city in Central China, enjoying fast economic growth and immense vitality and the 200-room Ramada by Wyndham Foshan Guicheng, situated in Foshan, the up-and-coming top-tier city in China with a variety of Cantonese cuisine offerings.

Moving our focus to other strategic Asian markets, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts also plans to launch new Ramada by Wyndham hotels in Thailand, Korea, and Malaysia in 2022, offering guests more options in popular travel destinations. Among these, the two of the most highly anticipated ones are – Ramada by Wyndham Bangkok Sukhumvit 87, a stylish hotel in Bangkok featuring rooftop gardens and sweeping city view; and Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Bangkok Sukhumvit 48 featuring a sky bar, restaurant, and spa.

As the first Ramada by Wyndham hotel introduced by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in the China market, Ramada by Wyndham Pearl Guangzhou opened on October 8, 1991 and has been dedicated to deliver the signature “Says Hello to Red” hospitality in China for 30 years.

Located in Guangzhou's Yuexiu District, Ramada by Wyndham Pearl Guangzhou is adjacent to Central Business District, Guangzhou Consulate District, Haixinsha Island, the Asian Games Themed Park and Tianhe City, among other famous business areas and landmarks in Guangzhou.

The 25-storey hotel offers 352 well-equipped guest rooms. In addition, selected rooms can overlook the signature landmark of Guangzhou - Canton Tower. The hotel went through a major renovation in 2013, followed by hardware and room technology upgrades to its guest rooms, Chinese restaurant, executive lounge, and parking areas in 2021, as well as a series of thoughtful services in line with the mandatory epidemic prevention requirements to provide the highest level of comfort for guests.
