hconnect, the hospitality integration platform, announces general availability of hconnect VAULT for the hospitality industry.

Moving PMS provides many challenges but little thought often goes into what happens to the old PMS data. Many countries require hoteliers to keep copies of invoices for years after generation for audit purposes. Additionally, many hotels want to keep their old guest data in case they miss something from a loyal guest. Until now, the solution has been to keep the old PMS server accessible or spend many hours printing and physically archiving invoices.

With hconnect Vault, hoteliers are now able to extract the data including reservations, profiles and invoices from their legacy PMS and move it to a more secure environment with Amazon Web Services or Azure using the self-service portal. hconnect Vault extracts, encrypts, and indexes PMS data in a way that allows users to retrieve this data securely and instantly from any device. This allows hoteliers to store legacy PMS data more securely and at a fraction of the cost of hosting the old servers in a virtual environment.

“Feedback we were getting from PMS vendors and customers was that they were reluctant to move to a new PMS without a plan for their old PMS data. The only option being suggested by PMS vendors is to keep the old servers running. With Vault, these unpatched magnets for data breaches can be decommissioned once and for all.” said Damien Murphy, Co-Founder of hconnect.

Released at HITEC Orlando, Vault provides hoteliers and their IT teams a means to securely store their data without needing expensive storage solutions or vendor involvement. "We presented Vault as part of E20X at HITEC Orlando and the response was very positive. Whilst we knew this was an issue, the number of hotels who approached us and shared their stories of having hundreds of old PMS databases online or in storage was surprising. There is alot of money in breaches, storage and maintenance sitting on their bottom line that they are keen to get rid of and now they can.
