10 Years of SuitePad: Digital pioneer celebrates growth trajectory
One of the drivers of digitization in the hotel industry celebrated its tenth anniversary in September 2022: SuitePad.
Europe's leading provider of in-room tablets and expert in digital guest communication gathered its 60 employees from 17 countries for their company event “SuiteCamp”. The international team traveled to Gut Gremmelin on the edge of the Mecklenburg Lake District for three days of workation.
They not only celebrated an impressive decade of digitization but also built up new knowledge in workshops on topics such as resilience, storytelling, rhetoric, and personality. And for a good reason: The company wants to be well-positioned for future challenges.
Since 2012, SuitePad has developed enormous growth momentum. Around 1,000 customers in 30 countries now use their solution in 70,000 hotel rooms. "When we launched ten years ago, we knew the industry would need our product. But the fact that we will reach around ten million guests in hotel rooms worldwide this year is a special feeling," says Moritz von Petersdorff-Campen, co-founder and CEO of SuitePad. "The way our entire team has taken our product to market leadership in a relatively short time makes me very proud."
Orders for 100 million euros and 255 years of usage
The hotel room tablet replaces the traditional guest folder and takes hoteliers' digital communication with guests to a new level - literally. The "highest" SuitePad operates in the hotel tower of Shangri-La The Shard in London - on the 70th floor.
The total usage time of all SuitePads worldwide proves the importance of a digital guest folder containing hotel information, entertainment, TV remote control, telephone, and booking tool: It amounts to an impressive 255 years. In addition, hotel guests have booked goods and services worth almost 100 million euros via SuitePads.
Ongoing growth and curious applications
The company's growth will continue in 2022. More than 10,000 SuitePads have been ordered this year alone.
Some curious applications show how diverse the tablet's in-room capabilities are. For example, one hotel uses the device to offer an "intimacy kit" for particularly sensual moments. Another hotel provides a hangover breakfast consisting of a cigarette, black coffee, and a shot of vodka. Yet another client offers a "mobile boutique" that allows guests to try on the latest fashions in their rooms. There are no limits to further development possibilities.
