Hoshino REIT Acquired Comfort Hotel Takamatsu for JPY2.05 Billion

Japan-based Hoshino Resort REIT Investment Corporation (“Hoshino REIT”) has acquired the Comfort Hotel Takamatsu for JPY2.05 billion. Situated in the city centre of Takamatsu city, the 163-key property is located within 15 minutes of Takamatsu Airport. The property has a gross floor area of 4,291.09 square metres and features a restaurant that serves free breakfast, vending machines, and laundry facilities. The property was completed in January 2022 and opened as Comfort Hotel in March. It has demonstrated an occupancy of 81.2% from August to October 2022. 

Archer Hotel Capital B.V. has Acquired Royal St. Honoré Hotel in Paris

Archer Hotel Capital B.V.(“AHC”), which is owned by the Singapore-based GIC Real Estate and Netherland-based APG Management, has announced the acquisition of the Royal St. Honoré Hotel in Paris for EUR87 million. The 68-key property sits on the famous shopping street of Paris, Rue St. Honoré. The property which features one restaurant and one retail unit is currently operated by Accor and will be rebranded under part of the Archer Hotel Management. This transaction will increase AHC's hotel portfolio to 11 Hotels with over 4,000 keys.

Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Corporation to acquire Dream Hotel Group

US-based Hyatt Hotels and Resorts Corporation (“Hyatt Hotels”) to acquire US-based Dream Hotel Group (“Dream Hotels”) for USD300 million. Upon closing of the deal, Hyatt Hotels will pay the base acquisition price of USD125 million followed by an additional USD175 million over the next six years. Hyatt Hotels’ acquisition will include lifestyle hotel brands and the management platform, which includes The Dream Hotels, The Chatwal Hotels and Unscripted Hotel brands. The acquired portfolio will include 12 managed or franchised lifestyle properties, with another 24 in the development pipeline. The acquisition of Dream Hotels is in alignment with Hyatt Hotels’ on-going asset-light growth strategy. 

Sydney’s Space Q Capsule Hotel was Acquired for AUD13.5 Million

Australia-based Roje Brothers Pty Ltd has sold Sydney’s Space Q Capsule Hotel to an offshore investor for AUD13.5 million. Located at 752 George Street, the 60-pod capsule hotel is minutes away from Capitol Square light rail station, as well as the Central train station. The capsule hotel features single and double beds pod across four-storey, and each pod features multiple USB charging ports and power points, as well as an in-capsule safe. This deal reflects a yield of 4.2%.
