This month, we’re spotlighting InterContinental Amman (Jordan), an iconic landmark situated atop one of the seven hills of Amman. We chatted with Lucie Aslou, Area Director of PR, about some of the unique features and experiences at the property.

1. What has been your most memorable guest room request?

We once had someone reserve a room for their best friend’s honeymoon. When the guest found out his friend had fully covered their accommodations at our property as a wedding gift, he was left speechless with joy.

2. What was the most memorable reason for stay/celebration?

As the “Le Grande Dame” of Amman, we’ve had many memorable celebrations. Recently, we organized a wedding, including coordinating for the entire guest list to stay with us. During the wedding, three well-known Arab celebrities performed, which made the wedding (and our hotel!) the talk of the town.

3. Cool hotel features that guests don’t know about?

We have a famous Lebanese restaurant, Bourj Al Hamam, that only regulars and locals know about. Most popular for its atmosphere – with indoor and outdoor dining areas – the restaurant is well-known for its catch-of-the day, fresh seafood offerings and Lebanese cuisine – it’s a must experience!

4. The moment you were most proud of the brand?

Recently, the hotel was recognized as “Jordan’s Leading Business Hotel” and “Jordan’s Leading Conference Hotels” – an incredible honor to be awarded for our overall experience and unmatched hospitality for diverse business segments.

5. What is your favorite place to visit outside of the hotel?

As an iconic landmark in bustling Amman, InterContinental Amman (Jordan) is just a 10-minute walk from the famous Rainbow Street. The hotel is also 10 minutes away from Amman’s new downtown destination, “The Boulevard,” where one can find all aspects of entertainment, food scavenging, shopping, and modern technology centers.

6. Any other fun fact you’d like people to know about the hotel?

The hotel has the most luxurious and bespoke Executive Club Lounge in Amman, available only for Club InterContinental guests. Our Club Lounge is a luxury haven with distinct separate areas created for relaxation, drinks, and canapés. 8. What’s your most favorite F&B offering and why?

Our exquisite tasting menu at our famous Bourj Al Hamam restaurant is my favorite offering – with this, you get to experience more than 15 items on the menu. A few must-try dishes would be Kibbeh Neyeh, hot potato plate, hummus, and the sweet platter that contains both Halawet Al Jebn (sweet cheese rolls) and Osmalieh (Arabic sweet stuffed with cream and topped with syrup).
