The Importance of data in Sustainability
Following the recent launch of its pioneering, integrated generative AI capabilities at ITB Berlin and partnering to launch the inaugural WiT Africa (Web-in-Travel), award-winning sustainability management startup, Weeva has been awarded its GSTC-Recognized Standard status from The Global Sustainable Tourism Council®, which means it is aligned to GSTC pathways for those hotels wanting to certify.
We’re so excited to have achieved this recognition from the GSTC. Our team of experts has worked tirelessly over many months to ensure that our sustainability management system, including all our supporting best-practice educational guides, tasks and tools for continuous improvement, meet the incredibly high standards and benchmarks set by the GSTC. Julie Cheetham, Co-founder and Managing Director of Weeva
Adoption of the platform is starting to see real growth, with many notable hotels and collections registering as users, including prestigious global brands such as Design Hotels, Sanctuary Retreats and Limited Edition by Virgin. To read more about these early adopters and their success stories, please visit Weeva proudly has users on almost every continent and continues to build out their global offering to better support independent hotels and groups looking to manage their impact.
Weeva is proudly affiliated with key strategic partners in the field including the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), Regenerative Travel, Small Luxury Hotels of the World’s Considerate Collection, ATTA and FEDHASA.
Weeva is set up to support users to gain their WTTC Basics and GSTC certifications by facilitating the capture of required data and the application of standardised reporting templates. In due course, in-system guidance documents and readiness checklists will be made available to guide the user specifically on these pathways. Weeva is currently working behind the scenes with the preferred auditors of these certifications to ensure Weeva’s outputs will ease the verification process for users and auditors alike. We want sustainability practitioners to spend most of their time on real impact work and less time on data crunching, hence addressing and streamlining the journey to certification.
