A Cybersecurity Blueprint for Hoteliers: Awareness, Culture, and Governance — Source: VENZA

VENZA, the leading provider of data protection and regulatory compliance solutions for the hospitality industry, today announced that CEO Daniel Johnson will join a panel of experts in a cybersecurity educational session at the upcoming Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC), hosted annually by Hospitality Finance and Technology Professionals (HFTP).

“It’s no secret to most that—as a frequently targeted industry with unique points of vulnerability—hoteliers ought to pay special attention to a range of data protection threats,” said Johnson. “VENZA will continue to spread that message. However, we’ve seen also the challenge and obstacles that well-meaning organisations have faced when building their security programs. We know having policies on the books is only part of the equation for success.”

“In this discussion, we’ll talk about how to bring your programs further, cementing them with a foundation built on a deep cultural commitment to lasting defense. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to share our insights with the audience at HITEC and look forward to seeing our colleagues there,” he added.

The event, titled “A Cybersecurity Blueprint for Hoteliers: Awareness, Culture, and Governance,” will provide insights for effectively deploying overarching cybersecurity initiatives, including a focus on governance, security awareness, and culture-building. The panel will address the formal and policy components of risk management, as well as the necessary changes in the habits, practices, and mindset of a hotel’s staff. Johnson’s contributions will be supported by VENZA’s extensive experience with guiding organisations to overcome the inherent challenges of developing robust security measures.

HITEC, the largest hospitality and technology trade show for hoteliers, will take place this year at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC from 24 – 27 June. The cybersecurity panel will be available to conference attendees and held on Monday 24 June from 10:45 AM – 12:00 PM EST. Lyle Worthington, former Global President of Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), will moderate the discussion.

VENZA will be exhibiting at HITEC in booth #838 and joined by CyberTek MSSP, a leading Managed Security Services Provider. In addition to showcasing its industry-leading security solutions, it will host fun events, including a cybersecurity-themed Jenga game. It will also preview Explore™, VENZA’s latest program for comprehensive social engineering and pen testing which is set to revolutionize the way hoteliers approach cybersecurity.
