Meliá Hotels International expands in the Dominican Republic with INNSiDE by Meliá
Following the opening of Zel Punta Cana, Meliá introduces its fourth brand in the country, increasing the total number of hotels to 8
Meliá Hotels International has announced the expansion of its INNSiDE by Meliá brand in the Dominican Republic, which is deemed a strategic destination for the company. The plan includes the opening of two new establishments in Punta Cana. Notably, these will be Meliá's first franchised hotels in the Caribbean, marking a significant milestone in the group's regional expansion.
The INNSiDE by Meliá brand, currently operating 45 hotels across Europe, Asia, and America, provides an informal and affordable lifestyle experience in both urban and holiday destinations worldwide. The brand adapts flexibly and innovatively to meet the expectations of contemporary travelers, whether they are traveling for leisure or business.
INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown and INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay are two new-build projects developed by Spain's Vivantia Homes, set to open in 2027. Both properties are strategically located a few kilometers from Punta Cana International Airport. INNSiDE Punta Cana Downtown, featuring 290 rooms, is situated in the urban and central core of Punta Cana, offering proximity to various commercial areas, day and night entertainment options, and residential projects within a secure and family-friendly environment. Meanwhile, INNSiDE Punta Cana Bay, with 186 rooms, will be positioned on Arena Gorda Beach, one of the largest beaches in Punta Cana. This location is characterized by its palm trees, lush vegetation, and turquoise blue waters, and is highly popular for water sports.
Nature enthusiasts can visit the Ojos Indígenas Ecological Park, a private reserve featuring trails leading to freshwater lagoons. Additionally, the region boasts several sites of cultural and historical significance, such as Altos de Chavón, an architectural replica of a 16th-century Mediterranean village, and Saona Island, which is part of the Parque Nacional del Este and known for its exceptional natural beauty.
Both hotels will offer a diverse range of dining options, including a restaurant, cafeteria, and grab & go service. They will also provide a wellness area, meeting rooms with an inspiring design, a swimming pool, gym, and cinema. INNSiDE by Meliá hotels are designed for social and professional gatherings, with a focus on innovation and functionality. They will feature healthy drink options, yoga sessions, bike tours, modern gyms, and meeting rooms intended to enhance creativity. Additionally, the brand aims to celebrate local culture at each destination by organizing events and showcasing the work of local artists.
Our objective is to strengthen our leadership position in the Caribbean by providing a diverse and customized hotel offering tailored for the new generation of travelers. We believe that INNSiDE by Meliá will be an excellent addition to our existing portfolio in the Dominican Republic, which is a key strategic location for our group in the Caribbean.
