Shiny, a digital tipping and productivity platform, was founded in 2021 by industry veterans Rebecca Robinson and Gwen Johnson, to modernize hospitality operations. Based on their experience with hotels, it became evident that existing hotel technologies did not prioritize enhancing the lives of associates, contributing to low retention rates. Shiny's core belief is that technology built for line level associates can not only improve their day to day performance and livelihood, but also improve retention, the guest experience, and ultimately deliver real value to hotel operators and owners.
