Benefits for the community

According to a study by Deloitte[5] , the average host in the Paris area is expected to earn €2,000 (over $2,170 USD) by hosting an Airbnb accommodation during the 2024 Paris Olympics, generating a total economic impact of €1 billion (over $1 billion USD) and creating nearly 7,300 full-time equivalent jobs in France.

Many French families have joined Airbnb's platform to take advantage of this opportunity, with the Paris area alone seeing a 40% increase in listings in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023.

Airbnb will play a key role in accommodating the increasing number of visitors during the Olympic Games, providing a variety of affordable accommodation options and supporting the overall economic growth of regions that have so far been underserved by tourism. Clement Eulry, Airbnb Country Manager for France and Belgium

Since then, the program has evolved to focus on emergency response and to help provide stays to evacuees, relief workers, refugees, asylum seekers, and frontline workers fighting the spread of COVID-19. Since then, hosts have offered to open up their homes and helped provide accommodations to 100,000 people in times of need. Airbnb.org is a separate and independent entity from Airbnb, Inc. Airbnb, Inc. does not charge service fees for Airbnb.org supported stays on its platform.
