Nick HolmesSwinton Park hotel has appointed Nick Holmes as project consultant to deal with the development of the Country Club & Spa which is due to open in early 2016. Holmes, the former managing director of Rockcliffe Hall, will consult on the £5.5m project at the four-red-AA-star, 31-bedroom property near Masham, North Yorkshire. It will include an indoor swimming pool, full spa and fitness facilities. The spa and health club will be open to Swinton Park and Swinton Bivouac guests, treatment and spa day visitors and club members. A native of the Wirral and a graduate of Sheffield Hallam, Holmes spent the early part of his career based in Scotland, initially at Gleneagles hotel. He then became general manager of Craigendarroch hotel in Ballater and went on to open Cameron House, Loch Lomond in 1989 as managing director. He later became involved with the development and management of a number of independent golf and leisure clubs throughout the Midlands and South West, before returning to hotels to open Rockliffe Hall, County Durham in 2008 as managing director. Since last year he has advised a number of UK resorts and golf destinations, specialising in spa, product integration, team and resort development with recent projects including Ramside Hall in Durham, Matfen Hall in Northumberland, Branston Golf & Country Club in the Midlands and Swinton Park in Masham.
