Webinar: Institute of Hospitality Scotland Day
The Institute of Hospitality, Scotland Branch, supported by Scottish Business Network will deliver a free one-day, online conference on Wednesday November 25th. The theme of the conference is building resilience and appreciation of the hospitality industry in Scotland. The conference will comprise talks, interviews and panel discussions covering various aspects core to the sector. Speakers will range from industry recognised figures based in Scotland, the UK and around the world, to the young talent entering the industry. The event is open to all of those involved in the hospitality sector in Scotland and across the globe. The hospitality industry in Scotland comprises, those who work in hotels, restaurants, bars, tourism, facilities management, cruise liners and a broad supply chain of service providers, and one which contributed £5.9bn to the Scottish economy 2019 and provided employment for 270,000 people. It is an industry along with retail, which has been the hardest hit this year, as measures have been taken to address the spread of the Coronavirus. However, there is also a clear recognition of the importance of the industry to the Scottish economy, extensive support from both UK and Scottish Governments to help the industry get back on its feet and keep as many jobs safe as possible.
