HVS Webinar: How Regulatory Environment and Government Policy Impact the UK Hotel Sector

HVS, together with our friends at Bird & Bird (lawyers), AlixPartners (restructuring experts), and EP Business in Hospitality (publishers), are delighted to invite you to attend our 22nd webinar, to be held on Tuesday, 10 December.

The UK hotel market is heavily influenced by the overall economic environment, but in recent times it has become increasingly influenced by changes in regulations and new Government policy, including the measures introduced in the recent Budget. These changes have impacted many different areas including employers, employees, investors, property, supply-chains through to customer demand in the form of inbound and domestic tourism. We will bring together a number of industry leaders to discuss how they have seen the UK hotel industry impacted by these factors and how this may develop in the future. And given the outcome of the recent US election, no doubt the potential impact of this on the hospitality sector in the UK will come up for discussion as well.

Kicking off our webinar will be a presentation from Kate Nicholls OBE, CEO of UKHospitality, who will present a summary of the impact the Labour government has had so far on the hospitality sector since taking office 159 days ago on 4 July. We will then hear from Rachael Farrington, Head of Tourism Affairs at VisitBritain, who will present her thoughts on how this will impact incoming tourism from around the world, including, no doubt, the potential post-Trump impact.

A lively panel session, moderated by Russell Kett, Chairman of HVS, will then enable a number of hospitality leaders to add their views and look ahead to how they expect the sector to evolve in the coming year. Panellists so far include:

So please join us on 10 December for what we promise will be an informative and enlightening webinar.
