McLean, VA -- SynXis Corporation, a provider of reservation management and distribution systems for the hospitality industry, announced today that it has successfully implemented an interface to the Lodging Management System (LMS), the gaming industry's most popular property management system, at multiple Harrah's properties nationwide. The link between the SynXis Agent(tm) reservation management system and LMS enables Harrah's to substantially improve operations efficiency by automating communication between two mission-critical hotel applications.

The XML-based interface has been jointly developed by SynXis and Inter-American Data, the provider of LMS. Harrah's Rio provided a rigorous beta testing environment with over 2,500 suites. Reservations made through SynXis by travel agents using the GDS or by online guests using the Internet are automatically downloaded into the LMS property management system, significantly reducing manual data entry and labor costs. Harrah's now has a real-time status of inventory availability and has experienced a 30% increase in GDS bookings over the same period last year.

Together, the SynXis and LMS applications deliver a robust reservations and property management solution for the gaming and large resort market. With its cost-effective GDS connectivity and Web site booking engine, SynXis Agent is optimal for Las Vegas properties. It allows hotels to make real-time rate and availability changes for one or multiple properties from any location with Internet access. This direct control allows casino hotels to add or change promotions quickly and efficiently. Changes are uploaded immediately to all major distribution systems, serving more than 300,000 travel agents worldwide. A Java-based Internet application, SynXis is scalable to support the industry's largest properties with more than 5,000 rooms.

"The SynXis/LMS interface will move us one step closer to revolutionizing the way hotels and casinos manage operations," said Adrienne Blakeslee, Corporate Director, Travel Services for Harrah's Entertainment. "Through improvements in technology, we are able to streamline operations and focus on revenue management and customer service. With this new interface, we expect to free up 10 data entry positions that can now be reallocated to customer service. That's important for an organization of our size."

"As a recent winner of the CIO Magazine Enterprise Value Award, Harrah's has a reputation for their innovative operational and strategic use of technology," said Bernard Ellis, Vice President of Product Strategy at SynXis. "With this new project, they are again stepping ahead to establish an industry standard for casino industry operations," he added.

The SynXis/LMS interface is now available to the more than 150 users of the LMS property management system, concentrated in the Las Vegas and Atlantic City regions.

Inter-American Data's LMS property management software is designed to help larger hotels and casino properties efficiently manage high volumes of information without the additional staff that decreases profit margins. It allows hotel staffs to spend less time waiting for information and more time providing guests with excellent service.
