MEMPHIS, Tenn / Hampton® hotels, the national brand of mid-priced Hampton Inn® and Hampton Inn & Suites® hotels, is introducing a very unique promotion utilizing new Web-based technology to reward leisure and business travelers this fall.

With the hotel brand's "Hampton Holiday Music" promotion, guests staying at Hampton Inn and Hampton Inn & Suites hotels on weekends beginning Nov. 2 through Dec. 30, 2001, can receive free musical merchandise over the Web using a special WebDecoder(TM). Hampton hotel guests staying a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night during the promotion will be handed at check-in a WebDecoder for each night of stay(a) (one per room).

Once a guest receives the WebDecoder, they need to log onto from any home, office or portable laptop computer. The Web page will instruct guests to place their WebDecoder against a blue box on the screen to find out if one of the following items matches their decoder: a DVD/CD home stereo surround sound music system, Sony MP3 player, Sony portable CD player, or a music CD featuring any one of many top stars. If their WebDecoder does not match one of these music items, they will receive a bonus $10 e-coupon from The Sharper Image®.

"Our 'Hampton Holiday Music' promotion is something totally new for our hotel customers today – providing a little bit of high-tech fun and adventure to the Hampton experience," said Judy Christa-Cathey, vice president, Hampton brand marketing.

"Our research indicates that Hampton guests list music among their favorite hobbies, and we feel this promotion is a great fit, especially for holiday shoppers."

Beginning Nov. 1, 2001, travelers can also take advantage of Hampton's fall Hit the Road Rates(b) starting as low as $55 a night, now through Jan. 5, 2002, at participating hotels.
