NEW YORK, Cendant Corporation CD today announced that Mark E. Miller, head of its electronic global distribution services (GDS) subsidiary Galileo International, has accepted a position as president and chief operating officer of Equifax EFX, an Atlanta-based information management company.

"In the five years since Mark joined Cendant, he has made significant contributions in each business he has led. As Galileo's CEO since the October acquisition, Mark has put in place an outstanding leadership team, which has delivered strong results and will continue to serve our constituents well," said Sam Katz, Cendant's chief strategic officer, chairman and CEO of the Travel Division, and chairman of Galileo. "We're sorry to see Mark go, but pleased for him to have the opportunity to be chief operating officer of a publicly traded company and bring his family back home to Atlanta."

In addition to his current responsibilities, Katz will serve as Galileo's interim CEO while the company recruits a new CEO.
